Placenta Encapsulation

Did you know humans are the only land mammals who don’t routinely consume their placentas after birth?

Having your placenta encapsulated after birth is a great way to utilize all of the hormones, nutrients, and enzymes that this powerful organ consists of. In pregnancy, your placenta takes over hormone production, which means after birthing the placenta we experience drastic drops in hormone levels which can contribute to '“baby blues”. Consuming your placenta after birth helps not only balance out hormone levels, but aids in the healing process, milk production, and increases energy. Amanda has been a Certified Placenta Encapsulation Specialist since 2012 and has successfully trained others, as well.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the process work?

If you are a home birth client of mine, I will take your placenta with me when leaving your birth. If you are a placenta encapsulation client only, I will come to pick up the placenta typically within a few hours of birth, depending on the time of day. Most people bring a cooler with them to their place of birth and will keep it on ice until I come. The process takes about 12-18 hours and it is my goal to have your package delivered to you within 24 hours, guaranteed by 48 hours. The package includes about 100-150 capsules, on average, depending on the size of your placenta, a placenta print, and a cord keepsake.

What do you charge?

My fee for encapsulation services is $300. I ask for a $50 non-refundable retainer to be made in order to secure your space for the month as I try not to take more than 3 placenta clients in a month. The balance is due upon delivery of your package.

What method do you use?

I process using the raw method, but also offer Traditional Chinese Method upon request.
